About the Event
This workshop is for young people in years 11 and 12 (15 and 16 years olds).
Growing confidence!
It's a fun and experiential day designed to help young people understand and manage anxiety. We create a safe and supportive space where confidence, knowledge and experience can build.
There are activities, games and challenges. We learn by doing and experiencing, not by being told and listening, so our workshop is creative and thought-provoking.
Mind the Gap
Mental Health awareness and support is improving thankfully. This workshop builds on the understanding young people have of anxiety and takes the next step of considering emotional intelligence. We use our Mind the Gap model to consider what to do between a stimulus that triggers anxiety and our response.
Takeaway!
Change and growth only come with practice, perseverance and support.
At the end of the day young people leave with a takeaway box of tips, tools and techniques to use going forward. To support them further we also provide parents and guardians with a summary of the day's learning and some tips and tools of their own.
